Pack 107 and Pack 106 Work Together to Remulch the Norcross Park Playground

The cubscouts and families of Pack 107 and Pack 106 worked together on this beautiful, warm Spring day to remulch the playground area of  Norcross Park. This was a collaborative effort to celebrate Earth Day a little early.  It was a large undertaking, but it was so wonderful to see so many scouting families show that they care about the park, and take part in the project.

Everyone young and mature took part in shoveling, picking up wheelbarrows,  picking up full and empty buckets of mulch, raking the mulch, and cleaning up the area after the job was done. The group worked efficiently and got the job done in 90 minutes.

As a reward, the cubscouts and their families enjoyed a few rounds of “Capturing the Flag”. They  decided to play Pack 106 vs Pack 107! It was fun to see such great team spirit. The end score was 4 to 3 for Pack 107, but in the end, it was a win for everyone! A great day well spent, and the Norcross Park playground looks great!

Pack 107’s Overnight Adventure at Skyzone

On Saturday April 6th, Pack 107 enjoyed an overnight adventure at Skyzone, in Westborough, as a reward for their popcorn sales fundraising efforts. The cubscouts and their families were treated to a glow in the dark jump party, and jumped to their hearts content for 4 hours before lights out at 12:30AM. The overnighters camped out on the trampolines for the rest of the night. It’s incredible how boundless these cubscouts’ energy levels were. They definitely out bounced their adult counterpart!

A big thank you goes out to Mr. Dan Gaspar, who is the assistant den leader for the Wolves, for making this event happen for the pack!20190405_191724.jpg

Pack 107 Tiger Cubscouts Help Out the Grafton Congregational Church

This past Saturday, April 6th, the Tiger cubscouts took down the damaged fence at the Grafton Congregational Church  for community service to help out our charter organization. This was for the Earning your Stripes adventure. The fence got damaged by a large part of the tree falling down on it in late February. The church decided it was best to take the entire fence down, rather than repair it. Pastor Zach Kerzee of Simple Church was happy to take the dismantled fence as he is a woodworker and likes working with reclaimed wood.

Although the Tiger cubscout are among the youngest of the pack, their hearts and might are strong, and capable of doing such a wonderful big job!! You are a shining example of what even the youngest of kids can do, if you are determined, and are working for a cause you believe in! Great job, Tigers!!

The Michael S. Hibbard Mill Town District Pinewood Derby Trophy is presented to Pack 107 at the April Pack Meeting.

On Friday April 5th, 2019, Pack 107’s pack meeting was full of excitement in recognition of the pack’s achievements in the last 3 months. It also showed how hard the cubscouts have been working to earn their adventure loops and pins. Since our last pack meeting in January, the pack enjoyed a movie night in February with special guests from pack 106, the pack’s Pinewood Derby on February 9th, the Blue and Gold Banquet on March 2nd, where we also had our Arrow of Light Scout cross over to Troop 107 and Troop 2019, the pack’s Quabbin Reservoir Hike on March 16th, and the Milltown District Pinewood Derby on March 30th.

Brian Anders, from the Mill Town District, was a special guest at our pack meeting. Mr. Anders came to present our pack with the Michael S. Hibbard Mill Town District Pinewood Derby Trophy, since we had the fastest car at the District Pinewood Derby. The pack gets to keep the trophy for one year until next year’s District Pinewood Derby. The pack gave a huge cheer to Gabriel Fong for this achievement.

We also had a Bobcat ceremony. We congratulate Lucas N. And Lukas H. on receiving their Bobcat Award!

We had 3 Bear cubscouts who earned their Whittling Chip award! Congratulations to Harold, Cory, and Kai. Thank you to Chris F. for showing the pack what the whittling chip looks like on the right pocket of his uniform top.

The scouts enjoyed a couple of energy busting games of “the Blob” ( a type of group tag game), to get their wiggles out.

We thank the Tiger dens for a job well done in performing the Flag ceremony at the pack meeting.
