At the pack meeting on Friday night, Cub Scout Pack 107 had the pleasure of welcoming 16 new registered new cub scouts to the pack!! They were welcomed with the neckerchief presentation by their den leaders.
A big congratulations goes out to the 13 cub scouts who were present for the Bobcat Ceremony, earning their first rank, the rank of Bobcat.
As a new cub scout joins our pack, the cub scout is starting his or her scouting career with the guidance of the parents. In earning the Bobcat rank, the cub scout has learned the way of scouting and is committed to doing his or her best.
The paint colors on the face have special significance.
“BLUE is from the sky. The paw print of the Bobcat on your forehead is the spirit of the bobcat. This reminds you to do your best on the Cub Scout Trail.
YELLOW is from the sun. The marks under your eyes will help you see the light of the Cub Scout trail and they symbolize the bright spirit of Cub Scouting.
WHITE is for purity. The mark on your nose helps you know right from wrong as you go along the Cub Scout trail.
RED is for courage. The mark on your chin reminds you to always speak the truth.
GREEN stands for the spirit of nature. The marks on each cheek will guide you to live in harmony with the great outdoors.”
***The cub scouts love the part when they get to dab white paint on their parent’s nose.***
“Again, WHITE is for Love and guidance, your parents are always with you in your heart and in your spirit. They will always do the right thing and will help you achieve all your Scout goals and keep you on the track of life until you are a man or woman and can soar with the Eagles.”
The pack had a successful summer program this year and has earned the Summer Time Pack Award for hosting pack scouting events for each month during the summer, Summer Time Den award to the Bears and AOL dens for having 50% or more of the den participate in the summer pack events, cub scouts who received the Cub Scouting National Summer Time Award, for participating in at least one pack scouting event for each of the summer months.
