Pack Hike @ Mount Monadnock

Today the Cub Scouts of Pack 107 took on our most challenging hike to date- conquering Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey, NH. We hiked up the Old Toll Road Trail to the Halfway House Site and then to White Arrow to the base of the summit. The Scouts had a blast climbing this mountain. “This hike is so awesome” was the phrase of the day, along with asking if we can do more hikes like this.

Unfortunately, due to a wall of rain being blown our way, we chose not to summit the mountain for everyone’s safety. We ate our lunches at the base of the summit, finishing just in time for the rain to start. We worked our way slowly back down the trail and had sunshine for the rest of the hike. We even stopped back at the Halfway House Site so that everyone could get their pictures taken in the stone chair!

5 1/2 hours and 4.2 miles later and we reached the starting gate! Great work Scouts!

It was a great day with everyone and we look forward to our next hiking adventure together!

Webelos Walkabout Adventure

Today the Webelos dens completed their Webelos Walkabout Adventure, hiking 3.7 miles along Harrington Trail to the summit of Mount Wachusett. Despite being wet and muddy, it was a great hike. On the way up, we stopped to admire the giant windmills and one of the lookouts. The fall scenery was absolutely beautiful. At the summit, we looked all around at the vast distances that we could see. We could even see the windmills that were once towering over us. In the distance, we were able to see Mount Monadnock- our next hiking adventure with the Pack. We even checked out the ski lift before heading back down. Overall, it was a great day to be on the trail and exploring all that nature has to offer.

Norcross Park Community Service

Today, we had our last summer community service at Norcross Park. The Scouts and leaders worked together to clean up trash, rake and sweep the basketball court, and give some much needed TLC to the front walkway. We even rescued two worms in the process! Great work Scouts and Scouters!

Thank you to those who came out to help!

July Norcross Park Community Servic

Today the Cub Scouts of Pack 107 had our July Norcross Park Community Service event. We started the event like we do every other: reciting the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Outdoor Code, and Leave No Trace Principles. We got into buddy groups and worked as a team to clean up Norcross Park- picking up trash and cleaning up pine needles in the parking lot area.

Thank you to all who came out to participate!
